Why Can't Domains Be Renamed or Refunded?
Unlike hosting services, domain names are registered through independent domain registries. Once registered, the domain name cannot simply be changed, and the associated registration fees are generally non-refundable.
Why Can't I Rename My Domain?
Every domain name is registered as a unique name with the relevant domain registry. Once registered, that name cannot be edited or replaced with another.
If you want a different domain name, you will need to register a new one. The original domain remains registered until it expires.
What If I Made A Spelling Mistake?
Unfortunately, even a small spelling mistake cannot be corrected once a domain has been registered. The correctly spelled domain must be registered separately, subject to availability.
Why Can't Domains Be Refunded?
When a domain is registered or renewed, the request is processed through the relevant domain registry, and registration fees are incurred.
Once processed, these charges are generally not recoverable. A domain cannot simply be returned because you made a mistake, changed your mind or no longer need it.
Are There Any Exceptions?
Some registries allow a limited cancellation grace period for new registrations. However, this generally does not apply to domain renewals, and refunds are not guaranteed.
What If I No Longer Need My Domain?
Domains renew automatically while automatic renewal is enabled.
If you no longer wish to keep your domain, you can disable automatic renewal through your client portal before the next renewal is processed.
Disabling automatic renewal prevents future renewals but does not reverse a renewal that has already been completed.
Fridge Hosting Refund Policy
Domain registrations, renewals, transfers and related charges are non-refundable once processed, except where required by applicable law, as outlined in Sections 3.3 and 17.5 of our Terms & Conditions.
