How Do I Upload An Existing Website?
You can upload an existing website to your Fridge Hosting account using the File Manager in your hosting control panel or by connecting with FTP.
Where To Upload Your Website
Hosting Control Panel → System Info & Files → File Manager → domains → yourdomain.co.za → public_html
Basic Steps
1. Log in to your hosting control panel
2. Open File Manager
3. Open the public_html folder for your domain
4. Upload your existing website files
5. Extract the files if you uploaded them as a ZIP file
6. Check that your website loads correctly
Important
Your website files must be placed inside the correct public_html folder. Your website will normally require an index.html or index.php file to load from the domain.
If your website uses a database, such as a WordPress website, you will also need to create a database, import the existing database and update the website configuration with the new database details.
What About FTP?
You can also upload your website using an FTP application such as FileZilla. Your hosting account details can be used to connect to the server and upload the website files to the appropriate public_html folder.
